In Crazy Taxi, you don't just drive to pick up and drop off passengers. The real challenge lies in navigating through multiple busy intersections filled with cars, trains, and tow trucks, all controlled by a single forward button. There are no separate brake buttons, no flexible steering—every decision revolves around timing your press to maneuver into the correct traffic gap.

How to Play Crazy Taxi
- The taxi will automatically stop before the intersection.
- Press the left mouse button / W key / Up arrow / Space to move forward a short distance.
- The car will automatically pick up and drop off passengers at the stopping point.
- The goal is to cross the moving lanes without collisions.
- A collision with a car, truck, or train will end the turn.
- If you stand still for too long, a tow truck will appear and tow your car away.
Each successful passenger drop-off earns you gold. The more passengers you carry in a round, the higher the reward. Gold is used to unlock new cars with different speeds and driving feels.
Tips and Tricks
Don't just look at the lane right in front of you
At multi-level intersections, you need to observe at least 2–3 lanes ahead, not just the one you're about to cross. There are gaps that look wide, but the next lane might have a high-speed truck approaching right after. Always scan the entire width before pressing forward.
Watch for long trucks and buses
Long vehicles give a sense of security because they block the road, but the space behind them is often very short. If you press forward too early, you'll be sandwiched between two vehicles. Wait for the long vehicle to pass completely before calculating your next move.
Don't hesitate too long—tow trucks will appear
If you stand still for too long at the intersection, a tow truck will come and tow your vehicle away, ending your turn. This is a unique mechanism in Crazy Taxi, making stalling not always safe. Observe quickly—decide quickly—move decisively. Choose a vehicle that suits your playing style. Some unlocked cars are high-speed but difficult to control, while slower cars make timing easier in tight intersections.
Crazy Taxi isn't a speed racing game but a game of split-second situational awareness. You only have one action to move forward, but you have to handle a series of factors: trucks, trains, trailers, multiple intersecting lanes, and constant passenger pressure. Next game: Skip It!
