Getaway Shootout is not your typical shooter but a chaotic arena where you and three other players scramble to find your way out of a small, narrow map filled with traps, weapons, and laugh-out-loud situations, with pixelated characters with twisted legs and stiff arms still trying to overcome obstacles, grab guns, climb ladders, and jump into helicopters.
How to Play Getaway Shootout
The goal
Be the first to escape the map (usually in a helicopter or escape vehicle). Whoever gets the required number of successful escapes (usually three) wins first.
Controls
You can't walk—instead, you jump left or right, like a puppet controlled by strings.
What should the player do?
- Quickly navigate through obstacles.
- Pick up items (guns, grenades, traps...) and use them to take down or delay enemies.
- Keep your balance—if you flip, fall off the screen or get shot, you will be revived at the nearest checkpoint.
Getaway Shootout Tips
Master the jumping technique for moving
- You don't need to press the button quickly; instead, jump rhythmically and with control. If you spam the button, you will easily flip or fly backwards.
- When you need speed, combine right + right jumps continuously; avoid turning your body too much.
Use your weapons wisely
- Not all weapons are used to destroy; sometimes shooting at explosive barrels near enemies will be more effective.
- Weapons can bounce when dropped to the ground; quickly pick them up if needed to use again.
- There are power-ups like teleport or super jump—using them at the right time can shorten the entire map.
Observe the map and watch for the exit point
- The exit door is usually the destination at the end of the level. If possible, avoid combat and sneak up first.
- Many maps have shortcuts—practice will help you remember the location and the short but dangerous route.
Tricking the enemy into falling is a golden tactic
- Jumping high and then falling on the opponent's head can make them lose control for a few seconds.
- If there are narrow stairs or a drop hole, pretend to dive down and then jump back, causing the opponent to fall.
