Total Party Kill is a pixel puzzle game that offers an extremely creative and somewhat… dark experience: to overcome the challenge, you will have to sacrifice your own team members. It sounds cruel, but this is the unique highlight that makes the game memorable and attractive.

The trio of magicians, knights, and archers are preparing to enter battle in Total Party Kill.

Unique idea from a Game Jam

The game was developed from a game jam competition with the theme, “Sacrifices must be made.” With this idea, Total Party Kill developed into a dungeon puzzle game where you control a group of three characters—Mage, Knight and Archer—together to overcome 60 challenging levels.

But unlike normal strategy games, here, each step forward can be exchanged for the lives of your teammates.

How to play Total Party Kill

The game has a simple control mechanism, using a few basic screen touches. Each character has its own skills:

  • Mage: Turns teammates into ice blocks that can slide on the ground.
  • Knight: Uses a sword to push teammates far away—sometimes falling into a hole.
  • Archer: Uses arrows to pin teammates to the wall to create bridges or jumping platforms.

Your job is to combine these three skills intelligently to solve puzzles. Sometimes you have to let the knight jump on a row of spikes and die on the spot, then let the mage turn his body into an ice block, then use the archer to shoot the ice block away...

Pros and cons of Total Party Kill

Pros

  • Creative idea: Sacrificing teammates to solve puzzles is a bold, new direction.
  • Smart level design: There are many ways to pass each level, encouraging players to experiment.
  • Feeling interested: When you find the solution, the feeling of satisfaction is very high.

Cons:

  • Short length: There are only 60 levels in total, completed in about 2 hours.
  • Slightly slow mid-game pace: Some levels have similar designs, making the experience repetitive.
  • Lack of visual variety: Despite the beautiful pixel graphics, the game lacks changes in the environment or colors.

However, these drawbacks do not overshadow the unique idea that Total Party Kill brings.

Total Party Kill is a free game worth playing with strange and smart puzzle mechanics. The game proves that with just a simple idea, you can still create an interesting and deep experience. If you love the creative puzzle genre, this is definitely a game you should try at least once.
